Dry yeasts

Dry yeasts are an economical way of brewing and while there may not as many varieties as there are liquid yeasts, there is still plenty of choice, with a number of speciality yeasts to choose from.

Dry yeasts do not require you to make a starter, however, it is generally recommended that you rehydrate the yeast, before pitching. This will give a healthier yeast colony, with less lag time before fermentation starts. It is also advisable to add yeast nutrient to the wort.

All our yeasts are stored in a refrigerator, to maximise the shelf life. If you are not going to use your yeast immediately, keep it in the fridge, but allow it to warm up to room temperature, before rehydrating or pitching.
