Precipitated Chalk (Acid reducer)

Precipitated Chalk is used to reduce acid levels (raise the pH) in wine, cider and grain mashing water. Although you can use pH strips to determine acidity, a more accurate measurement can be derived by using an acid test kit or a pH meter. Precipitated chalk can be used after fermentation is complete, in wine & cider, if needed.
